If BIA Advisory Services’ projections come true, OTT local ad spending will climb up from $1.18 billion this year to $2.37 billion by 2025. That forecasted rise likely stems from declining viewership for traditional linear TV and local advertisers who still want to reach crucial communities for their businesses. Local OTT provides opportunities to continue reaching consumers at scale while mixing in the targeting capabilities of digital. Broadcasters and pay TV providers are both operating on local levels with their OTT services, but how do brands know which platforms will give them the desired reach and frequency with consumers? How can ad buyers be sure they are not just paying for additional impressions?
