Brad Samuels is an experienced and proven media executive recognized as one of the industry’s leaders in innovative business strategy and revenue generation with extensive expertise in content distribution and multi-platform, branded partnerships.  Among other recognized achievements, Samuels played an integral role on the senior leadership teams responsible for launching and growing some of the industry’s most successful start-ups including Comedy Central and TV One.

Samuels is currently the VP, Content Partnerships and Strategy for Scripps Networks, responsible for all strategy and business development functions related to the distribution of the Scripps national networks across all platforms and deal models except for OTA distribution. Scripps Networks products include linear feeds and apps for the following brands - ION, Court TV, Laff, Grit, Court TV Mystery, Newsy, Bounce, and Brown Sugar.

Immediately prior to joining Scripps Networks, Samuels served as principal of his own advisory firm, Eagle Dock Media, which he launched in March of 2019 to provide strategy, deal-making, and business development support for content owners and platforms in the pay TV, OTT, CTV, mobile, and Digital Out of Home categories. Immediately prior that role, he served as Head of Strategic Video Partnerships (Americas) at Bloomberg Media for four years. There he led the company’s efforts in North and South America to maximize revenue and brand extensions via content distribution relationships (pay TV, OTT, mobile and Digital Out of Home) as well as several multi-platform branded partnerships. His responsibilities included linear channel and VOD content distribution as well as the creation and management of the company’s strategic branded partnerships including BNN Bloomberg TV (Canada) and El Financiero Bloomberg (Mexico).

Prior to joining Bloomberg, Samuels served as Executive Vice President of Distribution for Ovation TV from 2012 to 2015, responsible for driving the network’s content distribution initiatives across all media platforms, resulting in distribution and revenue growth of 35%.

Samuels came to Ovation from MSG Media, where, as EVP, Content Distribution, he recruited and directed a new team responsible for distribution and business development for MSG Networks and Fuse with related revenue of over $400M per year. Previously, Samuels served as EVP, Affiliate Sales for TV One from 2004 to 2008. As a member of the network’s founding senior leadership team, Samuels achieved record subscriber growth, reaching 40 million subscribers within two years of the network’s launch and striking distribution agreements equaling $350M in total value.

From 1993 to 2003, Samuels served as EVP, Affiliate Relations at Comedy Central, where he launched the channel’s first affiliate sales team which delivered record distribution growth and subscriber revenue during his tenure. He also managed all B2B affiliate marketing activities and it was in that role that he devised an innovative and highly successful strategy for distributing the channel’s original content via PPV and VOD.
Samuels, holds both BA and MA degrees in Telecommunications Management from Michigan State University, has four children, and resides with his wife Cindy on Long Island.
